Our Team  

Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital teamOur skilled veterinary technicians perform a multitude of skills, including provision of a variety of nursing care and medical services for our patients. Additionally they provide information and education to our clients in numerous areas of pet care and assist in maintaining medical equipment.

Among their many duties, our boarding and daycare team provide fun and loving care for our pet guests and assist in keeping our boarding areas sanitary, comfortable, and clean.

From greeting our clients and patients and managing schedules to assisting with medical records and keeping our facilities clean, Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital and Pet Resort's client relations support team is the driving force working behind the scenes.  

Our entire team works hard to make sure you and your pet receive extraordinary care and hospitality.


Michelle Jenkins, Ph.D. - Executive Director and Veterinary Hospital Co-Owner

Dr. Michelle Jenkins is the spouse of Dr. Jeffrey Jenkins (Veterinarian) and co-owner of Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital and Pet Resort.  Dr. Michelle Jenkins holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology.  She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience and clinical neuropsychology.  She has extensive business and management experience in the fields of human mental health and neuro-rehabilitation as well as veterinary practice management.  She has been involved in the practice management of Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital since 1999.  

Drs. Michelle and Jeff Jenkins have a daughter, Tara. They reside in the Ahwatukee Foothills with their four dogs and a cat.  Dr. Michelle is a retired clinical neuropsychologist and enjoys public speaking and leading seminars. She also likes spending time with her family, reading, writing nonfiction, going to the theatre and movies, photography, tennis, and traveling.


Stephanie - Office Manager / Client Relations Specialist

Stephanie joined the Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital and Pet Resort team in 2015 with over 10 years of office management experience and over 15 years of volunteering at a variety of animal shelters and rescues. She has a commitment to providing extraordinary service to our clients. Her compassion and kindness shine through all she does. Stephanie has a beautiful Yellow Nape Amazon parrot named Ivy and the funniest little French Bulldog named Ladybug. She enjoys spending time with her closest friends and family. Stephanie is a movie buff, loves knitting, yoga and swimming.

Assistant Manager / Client Relations Specialist

Zabrina is from New Mexico. She moved to Phoenix in 2013. She has always worked with animals in a variety of ways, including on a farm, and in veterinary hospitals. She has two dogs. Sabrina enjoys traveling and family adventures.


Cat - Receptionist/Client Relations Specialist

Cat is originally from Texas She has always had a passion for animal care. She has worked with animals most of her life, beginning at a small horse park, working in dog grooming, working at the Texas A & M Small Animal Hospital, and now as part of our staff. Cat has two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys painting, hiking, traveling, and playing with her pups!

Tomi - Certified Veterinary Technician

Tomi grew up in Washington and then moved to California where she began working in the veterinary field in 1999. She relocated to Arizona and obtained her Certified Veterinary Technician license. Tomi has two dogs and a yellow nape amazon, as well as a bearded dragon and two sulcata tortoises. In her spare time, Tomi enjoys cooking and writing.

Lisa - Certified Veterinary Technician

Lisa is originally from Pennsylvania. She knew at a young age that she wanted to work with animals. Lisa graduated from Arizona State University with an Associate's degree in Animal Science in 2008. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and is also emergency and critical care certified. Lisa has 6 cats, a dog, fish, two birds and three tortoises. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, doing arts and crafts, and watching movies and local theater.

Gabrielle - Certified Veterinary Technician

Gabrielle is a California born and Texas raised gal. She moved to Arizona in 2010. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at PIMA Medical Institute in 2017. She obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science and earned her Certified Veterinary Technician license. She has two adorable dogs. In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys spending time with her family and doing weightlifting.

Kristy - Veterinary Technician

Kristy entered the veterinary field as a veterinary receptionist in 2005 and received her veterinary technician training that same year. She loves her work and especially enjoys being helping to be a "voice" for the pets she cares for. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family. Kristy also loves spoiling her five cats and two dogs.

Jeanneth - Veterinary Technician

Jeanneth graduated from AAEC High School in 2011. She graduated from the veterinary assistant/technician program at Carrington College in 2019. She loves to hike and enjoys taking her two dogs to play in the park.

Ashley - Veterinary Technician

Ashley is originally from Montana and moved to Arizona 10 years ago to escape the cold winters. She is an animal lover and enjoys the daily variety and challenges that come with being a veterinary technician. Ashley's other passions include hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and pets. Ashley is currently finishing her Biology degree at ASU.

Bettina - Veterinary Technician

Bettina is from Lake Powell, AZ. She attended Long Technical College for Veterinary Technologies and has been in the veterinary field for 14 years. She is married and has 3 wonderful boys (human), a pug, a Chihuahua mix and a Russian blue. Bettina loves doing outdoor activities such as hiking, running, lake time, fishing, road cycling and everything in between.


Erica - Veterinary Technician

Erica is originally from California. She moved to Arizona several years ago. She loves the desert and how easily accessible the outdoor activities are here. Erica has been in the veterinary field for the past 20 years and still can't seem to get enough! She loves helping all of the pets and enjoys making longterm relationships with clients. She especially enjoys teaching clients how to better care for their pets. Erica has two cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, hiking, camping, and going to the gym.

Shacelly - Veterinary Technician

Shacelly grew up in a small town. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. Shacelly graduated from Carrington College in 2017. She has a dog named Groot. Shacelly loves playing and going for walks with him. She enjoys nature and hiking.


Melissa - Pet Resort/Boarding Manager

Melissa is known by her family and friends as a lover of all animals. She brings that love, compassion and commitment with her to work every day as the leader of our boarding team. Melissa is originally from Colorado and moved here with her husband and four fur babies to escape the cold winters. She is a certified yoga instructor with a passion for health and wellness. Melissa enjoys traveling, hiking, and cuddling on the couch watching reality shows with her Chiweenie, Min Pin, Tabby and Sphinx.


Elora - Boarding Technician

Elora is a native Arizonan. She has had a love for animals her entire life. She has three dogs, three cats, and a bearded dragon. She and her son enjoy spending time together playing with and caring for their pets. She has a radio broadcasting and audio production certificate and plans to return to school for canine pathology. Elora loves to write and play music. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, going hiking and working on cars.

Lenni - Boarding Technician

Lenni moved to Arizona from Wyoming to escape the brutal winters. She has a wonderful husband and two fabulous children. Lenni does a lot of volunteer work with the county animal shelter and has four rescue dogs. Lenni loves the outdoors, camping and fishing. Some of her hobbies include quilting, gardening and photography.

Maddison Schroeder

Maddison is originally from Colorado and moved to Ahwatukee in 2008. She is a student at NAU and is studying Biology. She is the Secretary of the Pre-Veterinary Club. She has always had a passion for animals, and hopes to continue into the field of Veterinary Medicine after she completes her undergraduate education. She loves all of the guests that come to stay with us! She also enjoys the outdoors and loves to hike, backpack and ski.


 Tara Jenkins - Web/Social Media Technician

Tara, the daughter of Drs. Michelle and Jeff Jenkins (owners of AACH), has grown up visiting, volunteering, and working part-time in both boarding and as a receptionist at Ahwatukee Animal Care Hospital. She is a great communications/film and photography/computer technology asset and helps keep us up to date with our website and social media.  Additionally, she is always willing to lend a hand helping to feed and exercise our pet boarding guests when she is available. She truly loves animals and brings a happy, positive, fun spirit to the hospital.  Tara is an honors student in college double majoring in theatre and media production and creative writing with an emphasis on screenwriting.  She enjoys acting, directing, writing, filming, singing, piano, tennis, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.  Tara has four dogs and a cat.
