Preventive surgery eliminates potential health threats before they have a chance to cause problems.

Spays and Neuters

Unless breeding is on the horizon, most pets benefit from being spayed or neutered. Not only can having your pet fixed prevent unwanted litters, it can also help stop pets from running away, may lower the chances of mammary and other types of cancer, decrease the risk of certain prostate problems, prevent infections of the uterus and other reproductive diseases, and can significantly curb aggressive behaviors.

Spays

Spaying is the surgical removal of female reproductive organs (uterus and ovaries).  Having your female pet spayed before her first heat, may reduce the risk of mammary cancer and prevents the development of potentially fatal uterine infections.

Neuters

Neutering is the surgical removal of the male reproductive organs (testicles).  Having your male pet neutered at about 6 months of age reduces the chance of developing problematic behavior traits, such as marking, humping, and aggression. It also prevents your pet from developing testicular cancer and reduces the risk of prostate issues later in life.
